To celebrate The Shipley Collection, Maak was delighted to host Dr Helen Walsh, Curator of Ceramics at the Centre of Ceramic Art (CoCA), York Art Gallery, who presented a talk about the work of Hans Coper and Lucie Rie within the context of the Shipley Collection as well as sharing personal insights from her meetings with John Shipley in advance of the exhibition 'Hans Coper: Less Means More' at the Portland Jewish Museum in 2019, in honour of the centennial of Coper's birth.
The lecture took place at the Maak gallery space in London prior to the auction in May 2024. All lots from the collection and auction results are available to view here
