How to Buy at Auction

Buy Contemporary Ceramics & Craft with Confidence

Our auctions are curated to showcase the artistic diversity of contemporary ceramic practice.

From the pioneering work of Bernard Leach and William Staite Murray, through to modernist icons Lucie Rie and Hans Coper, and on to today's celebrated makers — including Edmund de Waal and Magdalene Odundo — each sale presents the very best in ceramic art of the 20th and 21st century.

Our craft auctions are equally varied, bringing together outstanding work by pioneering artists across a wide range of materials and practices.

Whether you're a first-time buyer or a lifelong collector, buying through Maak is simple, transparent — and exciting.

Our auctions combine a seamless online bidding experience on our own platform with a physical exhibition that invites visitors to view — and handle — the work in person. It’s a chance to connect with ceramics up close, with the guidance of our friendly and knowledgeable team at every step.
